Specific Need

As a rural school district, we are deeply committed to providing our students with opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. Extracurricular activities and athletics play a critical role in fostering teamwork, leadership, resilience, and a strong sense of community among our youth. These programs often serve as a foundation for student engagement, academic success, and personal growth.

However, with limited funding resources in rural areas, sustaining and expanding these opportunities requires additional support. Contributions from generous partners like you help us provide upgrades to resources and equipment.

1. South Brown County School District - USD 430 is in need of an upgrade to the track, pressbox and bleachers located at Charger Field. Our use of the current facilities is limited during track season as the track is unsafe due to its depreciating state. We are unable to host a home track meet due to the condition of the track currently. The bleachers require ongoing maintenance to ensure a safe environment for students and patrons. In addition to this space being used by students and staff, the track is available to community members and we would like to see it become a safer and more viable recreational space. The cost for the necessary upgrades is approximately $2.5M for both the track and the stadium/pressbox.

2. In our rural community, school events are central to bringing people together and fostering pride in our students’ accomplishments. As our athletic and extracurricular programs continue to grow, our existing scoreboard no longer meets the needs of our school or community.

A new high school scoreboard would enhance the overall experience for athletes and spectators by providing clear, modern visuals and improved functionality across multiple sports and events. Beyond athletics, this technology would serve as a valuable asset for school-wide and community gatherings, including graduations, assemblies, and local celebrations.
