Kanza Mental Health Foundation

Goal: $1,000.00

Specific Need

The Kanza Mental Health Foundation is raising funds for providing Mental Health First Aid and QPR Suicide Prevention Training in the South Brown County community to adults, parents, and educators to help identify and safely respond to mental health crisis in youth and adolescents. The need for such training is critical and urgent in our community as mental health distress and youth suicides are on the rise across the country and many individuals and families lack the necessary skills and information to adequately identify and respond to crises occurring in the home, on social media, in friend groups, and in schools. These two trainings are essential community education steps for addressing the urgent mental health needs in our community and Kanza offers qualified mental health trainers who have dozens of hours in training and delivering Mental Health First Aid and QPR trainings across our Brown, Doniphan, Jackson, and Nemaha County region.

With the support of the Grow South Brown private donors, we can offer these trainings at no cost to those in South Brown County interested in participating and receiving Mental Health First Aid and QPR Suicide Prevention training. In 2022, Kanza trained the entire Nemaha Valley Community Hospital staff in Mental Health First Aid. Also in 2022, Kanza trained the teachers of Kickapoo Early/Head Start Program in Mental Health First Aid. Please support your South Brown County Community and donate today so that we can expand community education and provide training at no cost to South Brown County parents, teachers, churches, and businesses. These trainings are designed for anyone in the community who wish to prevent mental health crisis and suicides.

Sincerely,

Jackie Feathers, Kanza CEO
