Specific Need

Donations to the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Renovations Fund will help update the restrooms adjcent for our classroom and community gathering areas, as well as replace our damaged yard sign with a new LED sign--an investment to better serve the families of our church and of the community for years to come.

Our ongoing goal is to continue making the classroom/fellowship area a pleasant and functional environment by updating and beautifying the restrooms. The full-color, double-sided LED yard sign will inform and welcome everyone to community/church events and provide encouraging messages for daily living.

Profile

Church of the Lord Jesus Christ (CLJC) is a nondenominational congregation founded in 1977 by Pastor Tom Stone and his father Elder Howard Stone as a church to welcome all races and cultures. At CLJC children and youth are cherished as an integral part of the body of Christ. After opening songs of worship, children and youth--ranging from nursery age to high school—are invited to attend their own classes where they dive into the Word of God, memorize Scripture, and participate in fun and meaningful activities and discussions. Older students assist in teaching younger classes, share their testimonies and develop their talents in music, drama and puppeteering.

The classroom area is also used for the weekly meetings of a vibrant and growing youth group, open to grades 7-12, attracting not only church youth but their friends from the community. The area is also used for church fellowship and community events such as Waffles & Worship, a ministry for women from all walks of life, Abiding Love Marriage Ministry, and Vacation Bible School--all of which attract community members as well as church members.

While our mid-week Faith & Fun Club for grades K-6 does not meet at the church but at the Armory in Horton, it serves from 25-30 children weekly during the school year, including children from the community as well as from the church.
